Online music lessons
Practice, Practice, Practice!
Every student will be required to practice a minimum amount of time each week. It is understandable that each student has different needs and this will be discussed during the first lesson. The key to successful music study is consistency and that means following a daily practice routine. Generally, students are required to practice at least 30 minutes per day.
Books and Required Materials
All students must purchase a diction book (staff paper in a binder is fine) and a pencil with eraser. We recommend you purchase a metronome, but free online versions are available. A method book will be chosen for the student during the first lesson. It will be expected that the student purchase the required book before the second lesson.
Exams and Festivals
It is the responsibility of the student to register for their exam or festival event. Students must notify the teacher of their intention to participate in either of these events as early as possible. We are available to answer any questions about exams or festivals. Teacher numbers for examinations will be made available upon request.
Attendance
As with any educational endeavor, full attendance is expected. This means the student should arrive prepared to learn. In the case of guitar lessons, the instrument should be tuned and ready to play when the lesson begins. In addition, students should arrive to lessons well rested and on a full stomach.
Late/Absence Policy
Students are expected to arrive on time for lessons. If you are running late, please call to inform the teacher as a courtesy; however, lesson time will be reduced. Any student ten (10) minutes late will be considered absent and will not be refunded the lesson fee.
If you are going to miss a lesson for any reason, it is asked that at least twenty-four (24) hours notice be given. Lessons missed by the student will not be made up. At times, lessons may need to be rescheduled by CJSmusic and will be made up at a future date convenient to the student and teacher.
Holidays
Holidays are just that and lessons are not booked on these days. If deemed appropriate, winter and spring breaks will be used to make up lessons missed by the teacher and may also be used for the student to take extra lessons.
Payment and Lesson Fees
Payments are to be made before lessons begin. Cash or cheque may be used to make payments for in person lessons only. Make cheques payable to Jordan Stevens. A fee of $50.00 will be charged to you for NSF cheque.
For all lessons taken online payments must be processed through our Web site at www.cjsmusic.ca. All prices are quoted in Canadian funds.
Internet Usage and Bandwidth Saving
In order to have the highest quality experience we require that you please check that all Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file sharing programs are not running while taking your lesson and that you stop all downloads occurring in the background. This includes the use of Xbox or other multiplayer games and systems on your network.
Package Price Policies
Packages of ten (10) lessons will be valid for fifteen (15) weeks after purchase. Packages of twenty-five (25) lessons will be valid for eight (8) months. All packages are non-transferable and cannot be resold. Lessons left over after the validity period will not be refunded. This is to ensure that students are progressing properly and yet it still gives you flexibility not to have to take a lesson every week.
Photo/Video Release
By signing this document you hereby grant CJSmusic permission to take photographs and videos of the students to use in brochures, Web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials that CJSmusic creates without credit, or payment. Also, upon signing you allow CJSmusic to own the copyrights of any photo(s) or video(s) taken except where a previous agreement may prohibit.

Error-free guarantee
All of our score editing and orchestration services come with an error-free guarantee. The error-free guarantee is assurance to you that your music score will not deviate from the written score you have handed us. We will fix obvious mistakes and ask you when we feel that something is questionable but not necessarily an error.
The guarantee needs for you the composer to notify CJSmusic of any error that has occurred within 30 days of delivery of the final product. Should you find an error in your score we will fix it within 24 hours and return $1 dollar of the fee you paid for each mistake we have made to a maximum of 25% of the total fee.
