Noisemaking 101 - Notes of the Bass Clef

Last time I covered the notes of the treble clef. This time I will cover the lower notes in the bass clef.

The notes of the bass clef work vary much like the treble clef. We will still use the musical alphabet A-B-C-D-E-F-G. Going up the alphabet means we are going up the staff or up the page and vise versa going backwards through the alphabet. As well, the bass clef also has five lines and four spaces just like the treble clef.

A few reference points to help you find your way. The top line in the bass clef is "A" and the lowest line is "G". The middle line in the bass clef is "D". From these reference points you can "count up" or "count down" from each of the spots.

The above figure should give you a better idea of what the bass clef looks like. And the picture below will give you a way to remember the notes of the bass clef.
