Setting Up Your Experience
Follow these easy instructions to setup your equipment for online music lesson.
Step #1 - Plug your kettle in - Plug in your equipment
OK, you have registered and now it is time to get learning. first check the list below to see if you have all of the required equipment. Most of this equipment will come standard with your computer, but some older models may be missing some of the key equipment needed to have a successful lesson.

Program of choice
Whichever system you are using you will need to download a copy of Skype. Skype is a free service that allows you to make video calls to anyone in the world between Skype users. We have found this to be the best in picture and sound quality while still being free to our users. Setting up Skype is easy, just follow our instructions in the next step.
Internet speed requirements
All computers should be connected to a high speed internet connection. We recommend cable or DSL. You should also be connected to your modem through an Ethernet cable instead of using a wireless connection. Important: In order to have the highest quality experience please check that all Peer to Peer (P2P) file sharing programs are not running while taking your lesson. This includes the use of Xbox or other multi player games and systems.
For the plugging stuff in part we recommend that you follow any instructions included with your equipment. In general, you will need to plug a USB cable from your equipment into your computer.

Step #2 - Turn on your kettle - Turn on your equipment

After downloading and installing the program, double click the Skype icon to load the program. On a Mac you may be able to find the Skype program in your dock. Once loaded you will see this screen.
Log into Skype
If you have already signed up for a free Skype account enter your Skype name and password into the appropriate box. You can register for a Skype account right from the login page by clicking the link below the Skype name text box. Once registered and logged into Skype you will see this screen
Test your settings
At this point you can now make your first Skype call. When you first install Skype your only contact will be the Skype call testing service. Before using this service turn on your equipment. Now, click on the the Skype call testing service contact and then the green phone icon located within that contact. Follow the instructions given by the voice.

Add CJSmusic to your contact list
After setting up Skype you will need to add CJSmusic to your contact list. Instructions on how to connect with us on Skype will be included in an email sent to you after you register with us. If you did not receive an email you will need to contact us.
Step #3 - Enjoy your relaxing beverage - Your lesson is now setup
Once it gets close to your lesson appointment be ready for a call from your teacher. To connect with your teacher simply answer the call. You will now be able to fully interact with your teacher as if you were in a live environment.
