Online Music Lessons
What equipment do I need in order to use online music lessons?
At a minimum, you will need a computer with an internet connection and a microphone. But, we highly recommend that you have a web camera and musical instrument.
How do I set up my equipment?
This is a simple 3-step process. Just follow the instructions here
What method do you use to teach?
We teach all styles of music including classical, jazz, rock, and pop. Our methods are developed uniquely with each student. We would like all of our students to participate in music festivals and Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) or Conservatory Canada examinations, but this in not a requirement. As an aside, any student who receives their grade 8 music certification will be allowed to use that as a high school credit within Canada.
What levels do you teach?
CJSmusic is capable of teaching all levels from beginner to advanced.
What age should our children start taking music lessons?
This is largely dependant on the child. Once a child has the ability to concentrate for about 1/2 hour they will be fine for music lessons. Our music lessons are designed for people 13 and up. The younger age group is tough to teach in this environment because of discipline. You are more then welcome to take a trial lesson if this is your case. Please Contact CJSmusic to make arrangements for a trial lesson.
What are the qualifications of your teachers?
Jordan Stevens is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Mohawk College. His degree is in Theory and Composition and his diploma is in Piano Performance. He has completed his grade 10 from the RCM and is a recipient of the Cicile Berrard-Dunn memorial Scholarship for excellence in piano performance. For the past 5 years he has been teaching at various music stores along with running his own studio. Currently Jordan is our only teacher.
How often do I need to take lessons?
There is no requirement for how often you must take lessons. However, our most successful students take lessons on a weekly basis.
Do your ten packs expire?
No, you can use these lessons whenever you like.
What are your prices?
All pricing information can be found here.
What is included with the purchase of music lessons?
Along with your lessons you will be emailed a review of your lessons. This will give you a chance to practice and put to good use what was learned in your lesson. With this review you will periodically receive feedback on your progress.
When do you teach?
The studio is open from 10am-8pm (EST) Monday through Friday and Saturday from 10am-6pm (EST). We are closed on Sunday and all holidays celebrated in Canada.

This means that anyone putting on a public performance of the music created by CJSmusic must report the preformance to SOCAN or tell us that a performance is being given. Failure to comply may result in law suits being filed by SOCAN.
